Reach maintains highly skilled and licensed mental health professionals specializing in the treatment of trauma related issues and disorders. They are available to help victims and affected family members cope with the difficult thoughts, feelings and symptoms related to sexual abuse, incest or assault. The long term traumatic effects of childhood and other forms of sexual violence can be debilitating and destructive. They can manifest through symptoms of depression or anxiety, anger, nightmares, intrusive thoughts or many other warning signs. Healing from the trauma of abuse is possible. All counseling services are confidential and clients are treated with the utmost respect. Payments are accepted through insurance, medical assistance, or using a sliding fee scale based on family income.
Children are the most vulnerable and powerless victims of sexual, physical and domestic violence. Often times reporting is a terrifying and confusing experience for them. Whenever children are abused, families are thrown into turmoil. Caregivers can feel a range of emotions when a child reports, including helplessness, anger and fear. Reach Counseling offers a fully trained child therapist who works with victims of sexual, physical and domestic violence between the ages of 4 and 12. Our child therapist also works closely with parents and other family members to stabilize the family system and create a supportive and healing environment for everyone. All services to children 12 and under, and their families are offered free of charge.
